Today is the last day of 2009, and 2010 is almost here! 2009 marks also the end of the first decade in the new century - the Noughties! It’s funny (and a bit embarassing) that I only yesterday realized why they call it the Noughties :) It certainly took a long time….Of course it’s because this decade started with year 2000 and lots of zeroes, and zero is also called nought in British English.

In a few hours, the New Year is coming first to some small islands east of New Zealand, then to the Kiwis (New Zealand), then to Australia, then Asia, then Europe and finally to the American continents, ending with Hawaii.

I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy New Year’s celebration and a HAPPY NEW YEAR tomorrow!
