Here is an interesting new Top 10 list: most illegally downloaded movies of 2009. 

We all know that movies are being downloaded illegally on the Internet, some even before they are released to theatres. I don’t know how they do it, but sometimes movies are just ‘leaked’ online, and within hours, millions of people download and watch them for free. X Men: Wolverine is one example - it was released online even before the special effects were added - and it still didn’t stop people from watching an unfinished movie. Weird!

Movies used to be available through file sharing programs, but today torrent files are more effective in finding movies quickly and downloading goes even faster. There are thousands of Web sites who provide links to these files… while emphasising that they are not actually hosting them (which somehow makes it all right).

So, if you are interested to know which movies have been most popular with illegal downloaders, here they are:
